What is happening at Bringeland Airport?

Førde airport also known as Bringeland airport is a regional airport that is located in Bringelandsåsen in Sunnfjord Municipality and this airport is at RISK.

Last Monday (May 11th), some members of the RCN Community took part in the protest organised by Nytta AS at Førde airport.
Why a protest ? In fact, the Norwegian government wants to reduce the number of flights coming and going from Førde. Some reasons for that: from the government side, there are too many empty seats and closing the airport would be cost saving as they are planning to buy these routes and subsidize them partly.

Some RCN members by joining the protest with Nytta AS wanted to raise awareness regarding the fact that people are not happy with this suggestion of the government. In fact, Bringeland airport plays an important role for the local community and for UWC Red Cross Nordic since it allows some people to easily do their job, attract more visitors to the campus and recruit staff internationally to work at RCN.

Will Førde airport be definitely closed one day ? We still wonder….
